Shed: This 179 will hopefully be going into my blue van... one day...
I've slowly been sexifying a fairly good 179. It was out of the gold HR prem that's here somewhere... (above?)
It's a fairly low-mileage 179, thats now a 186. I haven't pulled it apart that much, (I'm not that good), I've just cleaned it up, got rid of the gunk in the sump, did the gaskets, then painted it...

I finally done it. I must say thanks to Paul (HR hearse) for the pic or two he sent me. The instructions that came with the garage were useless. I threw them out and did it my own way...

This was mounted under the bonnet of my ambo.
A hose was connected to the manifold, which provided suction for the medics. Apparently it was for draining crap out of peoples's lungs...
At least that's what I think happens..?

Shed: The Molasses Bath..
This is just a quick look at how molasses baths work.
I used a 5lt tub of molasses mixed with about 25lt of water.
I cut a cardboard box to size to put over the tub overnight to keep the tub warm-ish..

Shed: Rust removal using C.L.R.
I bought a litre bottle of CLR from Aldi. I added about 1.5l of water, then soaked my light in it (just the chrome bit). I did nothing else but used a paintbrush to help it along. It was in there for a few hours.
It still has very faint pitting, but you have to look damn hard to see it. As you can see, it came up amazing all with little or no effort..

Shed: Factory Markings.
Here's a few shots of markings that have come from the factory. There's also a few 'Dealer' added markings (stencils). Most of the pics are mine, but a couple I've found on the net.
Some are stencils, some stamped into the metal, some are just paint 'dabs'. I'll add more as I find them.

Shed: Vulanizing patch..
I got this kit from OH member walpolla (thanks Rod).
Just thought I'd show you guys how I patched my Postie-bike tube.
The kit is years old, I was gonna keep it as-is but I sacrificed one patch for this exercise.
