That venetian isn't original. I made that up from one I found at a garage sale, that suited some other car.
One day I'll paint it...
Specially designed "Kraft" petrol cap.. Definately not Nasco.
I'm not one for personalised plates, but I hope you'll agree, they're worth it...
Not many around with 3 doors.
I need one of those sirens...
EDIT: I got one. It cost me my first born..
Well near enough, but it's the correct one.
Take no notice of the VY....
Not bad condish for 45+ years old..
Just a few bits & pieces I've collected...
Holes for the siren.
These holes were covered up with globs of putty (blu-tac?) when I bought the ambo. The 4 lower ones are for the bracket that holds the siren, the back one is for the wires (which are still there) hidden in the rooflining.
This was red when I got it. Obviously from a fire engine of some sort.
You can see the wire that hangs from the roof that was originally connected to the siren on the roof.
Also, you can see it only has a single visor for the driver only...
For the lights and sirens etc.
Grifco siren and light.
(How come my washing always seems to pop up in my pics?)
Left one cost me $40, the right one $5.
Better not go over 50, doors might fall off.
I bought this cuppla years ago.
Needs a bit of a tidy up.. like my real HR ambo..
Picked this up from e-bay.
This is what would've been in the car.
Or at least something similar to it..
That red wire that's hanging down is for the siren.
carphone 1I bought this to go with the carphone.
I bought this to go with the carphone.
Note full headlining and 'driver's only' visor....
That's the 'nurse's' seat behind the driver.
Side door view...
Crazy looking front seats. Full fibre-glass floor, for washing blood 'n' guts out.Fellow oldholdener manky-van helped me retrim these...
After. With a bit of help from manky. Check out his shed.
I sent the old vinyl up to Manky in QLD, he sewed up new seat covers, then sent them back.
I then re-fitted them to the cushion/frames...
This is under the fibreglass flooring...
There's some nice fresh metal there, unseen for 44+ years...
But there's also some rust...
Those larger 4 holes are the bolt holes for original front seat (driver's side). The 3 smaller holes (+ one of the big holes) are for the ambo seat that are fitted to it.
I had to pull this up, to reveal more rust.
It's not too bad actually, but it's gotta be fixed...
Not sure what it's for, it has switches on the back
(See next pic)
Another shot of that light.
Anyone know what it's for?
Here's one of those dummies.
For teaching CPR etc..
Is he alive..?
He's looking a bit pale.
I don't think he'll make it...
Plenty more spares.
Made in Australia!
Actually, made in Melbourne!
If you go to google Maps, it's now "Taste Of Asia". Some food place I guess..
Blood pressure thingo.
I got this from Paul (HR hearse)
That switch again..
This was mounted under the bonnet and was run off the inlet manifold.
Picked this up for $2 from 2nd-hand shop.
Would've been good if it was blue to match the car..
The brochure for my stretcher.
No speed-freaks allowed.
Made in 1965.
Shame it's empty..
There's now a 179 in that hole.
