My wifes pride and joy. we bought it from a ford dealer who thought it was a 253, I saw the Rochester carby and the QT prefix on the engine block and knew it was a 308, so I got it for the Red Book price. I put the XB GT bonnet pins in to stop the bonnet

This is a Kevin Dennis Special, 327 HK. In the late 60s, Kevin Dennis Motors in Melbourne, release a custom version of a couple of models each new release.

This is a Kevin Dennis Special, 327 HK. In the late 60s, Kevin Dennis Motors in Melbourne, release a custom version of a couple of models each new release. This car had the driving lights set into the grille like a factory job, ROH mags and a phillips mono cassette player hooked up to the airchief radio. the cassette had only been released by Phillips that year. it also had KDM number plates, I found all this out as I was trading it in, the salesman had sold the car new to one of the members of The Strangers, a pop group of that time. Before I bought it someone had fitted a pair of XY GT mirrors to it.

Sadly both the Monaros went as building a house and having kids change things. This ute had a 6 in it when I bought it but it soon ended up with a 308 and a Saginaw gearbox.

It had no power steering or rear stabiliser bar, but when my wife lost on a wet roundabout I fitted a bar.

It was a great car to drive on the highway, when people saw you coming up fast in their mirror they would would just pull over and let you pass, the police had the same colour VLs at the time
