This was my first full on Custom which I started when I was 16 and finished when I was 18, all work was carried out by myself, this was actually my 4th Car with the previous being a Morris Minor 850 4Dr Sedan, a Morris Minor 100 4Dr Sedan and a Morris Minor 850 2Dr which I chopped 4inches, all in my mind were like mini-FJ Holden's and when an Apple Green FJ presented itself the offer was too hard to say no too so the lil Morrie made way for the FJ Sedan, had I had know just how rusty these old Bugga's can be I would have stayed with the Morris! :{D
All work was carried out under the guidence of a Master Panel Beater/ Spray Painter who held tickets in both fields, I first rebuilt it as a standard FX then went to town on the Bodywork after a chance meeting with Daryl Neilson(?) who owned the most awesome old Blue metallic FJ Custom, being 16/17 at the time I was impressionable and set out to build a wilder Custom, dumb in one sense but on the other hand, this was my learning curve in the world of Customs and it something was not up to scratch with the old Boss I had to go back to bare metal and do it all again, nothing was just tacked on or Fibreglass, it was all metal thru & thru, last I heard it was rotting into the ground at Cooroy Wreckers after a failed venture between Darly and a mate of his, another old Custom reclaimed by Mother Nature, far better than coming back as a bloody Daewoo IMHO! :{D
