Unwrapping the package gives us the Performance Ignition box containing the whole kit, inside had extra packing and every item came in perfect condition, not a scratch, like I'd bought it across the counter.

The kit for $550 (club price, you must say you came from oldholden.com to get this price) includes the brand new Scorcher electronic distributor, a Scorcher high energy coil, 6 new plugs, all leads required (leads shown may not be the same type) two stickers for the car and a small installation/maintenance guide. Any queries to Dick O'Keefe at Performance Ignition Services (03) 9872 3644 or perf.ignition@bigpond.com

Our first real step is to have a look at the instructions, it’s a very simple job but it never hurts to lay the parts down and have a good look at them first so that you understand what needs to be done. The back cover of the instruction booklet simply has distributor care notes. Performance Ignition Services scratches out the top one because naturally the electronic ignition has no points.

The inside of the booklet has the installation notes. It simply says “pink wire to coil positive” and “green wire to coil negative”, pretty simple. The booklet though is also important because it contains part numbers for the components if you need to replace something from Performance Ignition Services you can just quote them the number, I recommend keeping the booklet in your glove box or if you have a special place for car parts booklets then keep it there, I would not throw it out because you never know when you may need it.
