Firstly let me start by saying "the paints not that bad!!!" sure it doesn't look too good inside, I only gave it a quick spreay to change the interior colour but damn...the camera/flash makes it look horrible...anyway, this is a guide for installing retractable seat belts, in my case to replace a badly frayed set of standard belts. Firstly, a look at the bolts to be removed, all bolts are easily accessible from the back seat of the car. This first bolt is behind the rubber cover on the pillar between the front seats and the rear at head height. Yes, the car was originally brown, hence the brown seat belts.

The second bolt is on the same pillar at the base.

The third bolt is in the center of the car, most likely under any old carpet you may have, and yes, my carpet is atrocious, maybe a workguide will be coming soon on replacing carpet in the car...

To get to the first bolt we only have to slide the plastic covering back along the seat belt, it has a lip which is fairly tenacious if in good condition but with care you should be able to preserve it, unlike I have done (you can see the small split), if it is not in good condition it should be very easy to remove.

Removing the bolt we see it has a spring washer on the other side of the bracket, the bolt also has a smooth part which slides neatly into the bracket.

Same on the second bolt but no spring washer, I guess they ran out...or it wasn't necessary, either way we'll be using the bolt from the kit for this one so it doesn't matter.
