Ok I had to skip some photo stages here as I cant weld grind and cool metal as well as take pics. All these pics are taken with a timer on the camera so its a bit tedious staging all the shots and checking them. The patch was migged into place with great care taken to cool and grind each weld and hammer as I go. Basically the procedure is to tack, cool,linish and hammer and check . Then come back with more of the same in between the tacks until fully welded. The overlap is cut away after tacking at either end first and bolting to the car at the botom.
