MRS STREETNEAT! FC project and Betty Boop collection!

***NEWSFLASH*** - THIS CAR IS NOW SOLD Its new home is West Aussie!
Inside here you will see how I built my FC sedan. Also dont forget to check my ever growing Betty BOOP collection!
This is MY FC Sedan project by me (Mrs Streetneat/KUM66)
Yes I do like to get my hands dirty, sore and red. I only get assistance from my husband when I shout and jump up and down.Which I did !
I can't afford to have a late model cars up keep , and I am a big fan of the fifties styling and all the chrome and curves of that era.
I couldn't let him start another custom project as we have them coming out of sheds every where here. I'll be counting my doors and measuring my roof daily ! Well enjoy and please post comments of an encouraging nature.

Mrs Streetneat is Betty Boop crazy (just in case you didn't know !) and just thought it would be a nice sub-album to have.
This is more of a picture show, abit of a ladies thing. Sorry guys.

This is how we found her. My husband was flagged down in his FC Ute on the way to a swap meet and was offered this car- who was he to refuse?

So $500 bought all this...and more....and more...and more. At this stage I had not laid claim to it.

Kims_FC_trolley_1.jpg

After considerable complaining of the limited workspace allocated to me I had Andrew build me a trolley that would enable me to move my car around.Even this he had to get carried away making.

Trolley fitted to the subframe mounts. At last I can move it out to work on it. His HG Ute project has been moved further to the back of the shed.

The car came fitted with seat belts which we will be re-fitting new colour coded to the interior. Also have spend alot of time removing all the old rubber seals , they are very sad.

I'm feeling like I am ten foot tall and made of steel so where would you like this rear windscreen ? Look at all the holdens I'm working around.

Yes I'm going to be re-fitting both of these items as I think the car will need them to help keep the sun off us and the interior. What a MAJOR fight to get the visor off, had to do a fair amount of jumping up and down to get some notice.
Thanks dear.

This was easier than I expected and I managed to undo the pedal assy too. Also undid one off another holden for the auto set-up.

Windscreens for EK s are removed by undoing any trim screws around the corners - and getting inside and pushing out with your feet. A little help with a screw driver on the rubber lip inside will also help - but My recommendation is you shouldnt be wasting your time with second hand windscreens- call a windscreen company - safer, easier and cheaper in the long run!

We have many hours in the car - we didn't really count and a lot of stuff was pre done before we decided to build this car - basically a team of professionals worked around the clock over four months - so at any one time there were several aspects of the car being built or reconditioned.
In addition to the building process we used the car as our platform for several articles published in streetmachine magazine.(Andrew works for this magazine as a freelance Journo)
Yes the car is still on the market - but we have not actually advertised the car.(no real need to)
We plan to take it to Wintersun in 2007 where we know it will be snapped up as several interested folk have indicated thats when they will be in QLD next.
Any interested parties may view the car by appointment on (07) 3206 0340
Cheers Andrew and Kim
