1948 Chev truck I built in the early ninties -On a HJ One ton chassis...blown 400 on lpg ,TH400, 3:25 9". This was Qlds first fully registered hot rod. Because we used the HJ chassis - this was the key to getting full rego as the vehicle is identified by its chassis rather than its Body. The main roads Dept didnt look at this truck as an upgraded 48 Chev - rather as a downgraded Holden one tonner. So we were up against the eight ball to prove otherwise.

A 1959 Chev Elcamino I owned a few years ago. This was the car we accepted a s a Trade on the Model A hot rod - it was not really worth as much money as we first thought so consequently we lost a lot of $$$ on the eventual sale. Its all a learning process.

What a improvement! (and the Truck...*ouch*!) The end result of two years hard work by Kim and myself . Our first Hot Rod and became our daily driver for a few years. Our first born - Harold was bought home from hospital in this truck. Kim would do the weekly shopping in it and it was also our shop truck. This is the truck that caused the HG Ute to be sold off... luckily I got that one back!

This is the motor and box I just picked up for a few hundred bucks. Its a WB P'Van Blue 202 / trimatic. I will leave it stock for now I think . Maybe some extractors and a Falcon Weber carb if the existing pipes dont fit into the Van. See the FC Ute IS used for a work horse. This was one of the planned engines for the EK van project. (It ended up in Coreys one Tonner - see current jobs in the shop album )

The following are not my pics - but those of the bloke I sold the car to. This 57 Plymouth was built by myself in record time - 3 months! I'm not responsible for the Pro street look though - that was done after I sold it.

The car I started with was a pretty clean 57 Belvedere coupe. I deleted the side trim and used a piece of trim from a Toyota Crown sill moulding. The paint colour I used was Mazda Mach Green over a gold pearl base. The roof was finished in a white/gold pearl. I painted this car myself on new years day 2000.

The Grill was made from solid stainless bar stock - and weighed a lot! The headlights here have been changed from the 57 items I had to 58 units. I also had a Hilborn scoop to accommodate the LPG Carbs height. That's been changed to a letter box scoop here. The wheels I ran were chrome smoothies with sombrero caps - not Convo pros as shown. I believe the entire driveline was updated from the stock as I had sold it to something pretty wild. It needed doing as the original running gear was getting tired.
