The finial spit 'n polish before delivery. Well actually - the spitting was kept to - "stay away from this car" and the polish used is Carlack....

Greg would drop by with his Monaro while we were doing Scotty's in '07. It was a pretty clean street-er but no real emphasis on originality.

This is pretty much how Greg had bought the car and he added some Dragway wheels to make it more his own.

The interior had already been sorted by Greg- Although this car dint have hounds tooth originally - Greg opted for it to help break up the interior a little. Special protective covers Greg has had custom made protect that hounds tooth.

The original Bathurst tank is hiding in there- Greg was dropping by to take sample templates of the proper tank covers as fitted to Scotty's car.

Its hard to imagine now that Scotty's car would come from this far behind Greg's later in '07 and be complete again and actually overtake Greg's Resto.

Some items such as the air cleaner, carb have already been fitted to Greg's - a few months later it came back to us with no driveline so the engine bay could go satin black.

Streetneats safety pics 025
About the only picture I have of Greg's painting process is this mocked up safety shot we did for Streetmachine magazine safety article. Painting of Greg's Monaro was solely Grahams job not mine so I left him to it.
This shots just for the camera- we don't normally rub a car back with a 9" grinder!

Even though I personally didn't play a huge part in Greg's resto - that was mostly done by Graham and Greg - I did provide quite a bit of hardware like correct zinc plated items. Now Greg's car resembles something more typical of what is turned out of the doors here at Streetneat

The steering wheel is just a loaner, the engine fan however is the final one that will be used- the plastic flex lite fans are just the ticket for keeping the engine cool- sometimes commonsense will overrule originality. So purists can moan all they like - especially when a steel blade lets go!

The Daytona bronze really suits this car - its one of the prettier colour choices to be had and is original for this car. Greg wasn't convinced at first when looking at colour samples- now its on the - he needs no more convincing.

Isn't that one of the best rear ends you've seen toady? The HT Monaro has a tough stance from most angles- this is the view most motorists of the day would have seen. The 350 Chev and four speed combo would have been a tad hard to resist using!
