Working on digital upholstery in picasa 3 using the retouch button. If you use picasa 3 and want some practice download this pic (sorry I only got tan), then go to a pic and click retouch. Select a section of the GTS strip you want to change its colour, then move the mouse over another colour/texture in the picture you want to replicate and select. Adjust the size of the circular brush to your needs.
In this photo, I'd already gone into paint and used the colour picker and painted the white material as it just wasn't doing it for me, besides I wanted to see what the GTS trim strip would look like in tan vinyl. HINT: If there are bright/light colours that you are trying to convert to darker colours, its quicker to do what I briefly described with paint.
You can use dark shadows to make the process go a bit quicker, it does take a bit of work. Possibly something else already out there to do this, though I think this function is really simple to learn and use, just takes a too long...
