HZ's dash comparison 179
I was going to do this up as a sandman or even just a replica mock sandman until such time I could confirm it was a sandman, though after vigorous research and hesitant hounding of numerous people who have been very patient lol, I've concluded its a commercial/belmont base model.
I'd originally thought the front end may have been in an accident and that a previous owner sourced the current kingswood SL grille single headlight front end as a replacement and the current single headlight wiring loom is bound with electrical tape that doesn't look original (I'd estimate 7 yrs old).

This van didn't have the rear headlining, but it did have the headlining attachment strip in the rear cabin 5 years ago when I bought the car, something I clearly recall would dig into my scalp and get my hair caught in it every time as I accessed the rear cabin whilst leaning in from the outside. I ended up ripping it off in a wild rage, but while throwing it out I recall it was looking pretty shabby and considered I'd be best to get a tetanus shot. Seems to have been an optional original feature, though I never physically held a brand new reproduction strip so I couldn't tell you whether it was a repro and I haven't been able to determine if or when reproduction headlining attachment strips were made, nor do I know how original H/lining strip (or reproduction strip) are held in place as mines doesn't have any holes in that area for clips, screws, bolts or such. As to whether a rear headlining was ever fitted, well your guess is as good as mine, it only has the one in the seating compartment.

All matching id tags and chassis number. Seems the engine number (QR733348 with date code 79C6) is non-original, but nevertheless a worked 253 :) and I'll stick with it for now, as it produces a nice 'note' within the cabin when I'm accelerating. Perhaps one day I will come across an engine with the right numbers, but I'm not going to settle for just any engine though. The trimatic transmission is non-original also, painted a green metallic colour with silver over that (my car is factory palais white and currently white), I hear its American cousin is called a turbo lol.
Glove box tyre placard: 9947525ek, I'm told has been potentially changed over, which seems likely considering the original speaker hidden under the dash is not there and I'd imagine would have required the removal of the dashpad for the speaker to be taken out.

The dash fascia has the 'Kingswood' insert, although for the purposes of other people following up on identification research, the insert can be taken out, which is held in by two screws at the rear (shown in next photograph).

In this picture of my HZ SL kingswood sedan, there was a clock instead of the insert. The clock is on the left, view partly blocked by the steering wheel.
