Shed: My latest project
After more than 12 months, work begins on my latest project. I did a swap with a bloke near Canberra for an HQ Ute, the ute had potential, but my love of FJ's over ruled. So here we go again with my 4th FJ,,, this time I plan on just a neat genuine streeter, old skool style and some practical improvements as far as reliability, safety, comfort and kewl factor.

Finally did the grafics over Xmas break. Nice, no? I Bought my own vinyl cutter and saved a bundle. It cost me what anyone would have charged to put it on plus I can change it all the time and did the graffics at my cafe too! Sweet, no?

Shed: FJ station wagon
FJ station wagon recently purchased in Brissy, doesn't look too good at the moment but I have been told it is one of six built and one of only two left in Australia makes it look a whole lot better. It is based on a FJ panelvan but has had the bulkhead removed and floor extended with original pressings.

Getting Ready to do rear floors
I've marked out all the factory welds to be drilled, coz the rear seat kick panel needs removing for minor rust repairs, and also to allow access to the internal crossmember & room for getting to old floors.

Out she comes
All the welds have now been drilled out and the kick panel will be hung up with the rest of the panels and be restored before re-installing. There was some minor damage in the process, and each end is pretty ugly due to rust, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Rear Floors Driver Side
This is the rear floors before I began,,, pretty ugly in my opinion. The rare spares replacements won't do the front half of this section, but an area that will be removed from the kerb side should patch the seat hump area quite well and unlike the rare spares items, the stamping profile will match the original. Not that anyone will see it tho once the carpet is fitted. (Note the bodgey floor repair where the spring hanger has punched through,,,, somehow I doubt this would pass a roady these days?)

Rear Floors Kerb Side
Here's a snap shot of the kerb side rear floors before starting. Another ugly sight, but once the repro floor panels go in, this section that'll be removed has the perfect patch panel for the drivers side rear on the seat hump.

Hey Guy's 'n Gal's, here you will find a SHYTE load of, well... SHYTE! lol
Everything from old Holden's to Kustom Old Skool Holden's.
Also Pictures I have played with in Microsoft Paint and in Adobe Photoshop, I teethed on MSPaint and still use it for the major part of playing with pictures before adding a tad of Adobe PS before saving them.
I also have a few pictures I have played with using Ulead Gif Animator and made lil moving pic's, some funny some Kool.
There's my old FX Kustom I built when I was only 16 back in the late 70's, my old HG Holden Ute with its extended roof and electric windup rear window using a HQ Tailgate.
My old EH Ute with its '59 Pontiac Headlights.
My Wife's old Custom Gemini Sprint which took me 5 years to build for her and won 10 Top Trophies in the 10 months she showed it around the SE QLD corner back in '95/ '96.
Then there's my Dad's old EJ Premier I painted for him under a tarp in my back yard, he passed away from Cancer not long...

FJ VR ROD PROJECT is a diary of one night a weeks efforts buy two guys to recreate the fj holden in street machine form , air demisters all the modern con's and safety but its gotta feel and have humpy personality , see it all the good bad and ugly as we cut grind weld and fill to the end , the end result is a production kit car that can be fitted over a vr,vs commodore I have supercharged v6 but and going 5L ss model you supply the car we fit them up you put the trim back in and paint thats what I have in mind

Obviously this is not effijy , what it is , is a registerable body kit , a daily driver that is very similar to effijy in the front as theres only so much an fj front can be morphed and still be fj , the rear however is totaly different and resembles an fj stretched over a commodore , bottom line is in the near future a full sandwich foam glass body kit new door skins new guards and bonnet and body turret , so you can go old skool cool...

CURRENT CONDITION OF THE FJ UTE FOR SALE
PANEL BEATING
Norm carried out panel beating but unfortunately his work has been an amateur job, not to a high standard; little bits here and there over various panels will need to be redone.
SANDBLASTING & PAINTING
The sandblasting of the exterior and the painting of some of the panels with undercoat was a reasonable job done some 10 yrs ago, although not all panels were primed up, so there has been some deterioration and its gone down again.
RUST, GEARBOX, TAILGATE, GLASS, SEATS, SEAT FRAME, FLOOR & DASH
The main chassis rails do not appear to have rust but there is some rust in the sills and floor.
The gearbox tunnel has been cut out to fit another gearbox.
There are 3 gearboxes present.
The tailgate is the FX Ute style, it’s OK and is in good order, but has been repaired straight and does not have the original curve. Needs only minor work.
Some of the glass has 1st quarter 1954...
