Well after 17 plus years Streetneat Australia has ceased trading as of December 2008 and relocated to NZ! We will continue to update this website with our own personal projects in time as we have a run down farm in Waingaro North Island NZ to restore.

Shed: hq monaro coupe restoration project
click on the car to bring up the thumbnails ,then click on them to bring up a bigger photo .this car restoration has taken a long time to be finished .but i wanted to have a car which when it was being restored i could see the whole process start to finish ,and i would have the peace of mind to know what was under the paint & body work afterward and that it was done correctly ,and have some hand in the restoration myself ,as this was not a quick respay .to many people buy cars that are already finished and pay some big dollars only to find after a few years the paint starts to bubble and they find the preparation work was not done properly and the body work has been done with bog and not plate welded .then you are up for a whole new paint job and who knows what other body work as well .DO IT ONCE ......DO IT RIGHT ... AND SAVE THOUSANDS .

HEI Distributor Vacuum Canister
The Vacuum Canister removed, NOTE: the marking 212, these are the Spring Tension and Travel of the Vacuum Advance this one means is has a tension of 2 ,and the shaft travels 1.2 mm's. The longer the travel, the more vacuum advance will be applied to the Distributor. The lighter the spring (a 1 is lighter) the easier it will be for the vacuum advance to be applied and the earlier the vacuum advance will reach its maximum amount. Typical markings are 212, 214, 230

Coleman Evaporative Air Conditioner
THE "Coleman Model ,,6254" Evaporative Air Conditioner here is how it work's small dependable, low amperage pump, mounted on a 6 gallon water tank, delivers water on demand ,through the supply tubing up to a distributor tube in the cooling unit on the roof of the vechile, it flows into flat high speed revolving slinger .
the spinning slinger impinges the water against a circular fence located inside on the housing top and directly above the incoming air chamber.
This action vaporises the water into a fine mist .The fan ,located in the venturi above the ceiling louvers, draws outside air in through holes in the housing air passes through this fine mist were it gives up some of its heat to the mist as the mist evaporates. The air is drawn on through the filter pad where it is cleaned and free droplets of water is removed. It then passes down through the lovers in the ceiling where the cool clean air is delivered into the vechile. Excess water, that does not evaporate in the cooling process,...

There on the right, is a small gauze, to filter the fuel before it gets sucked up to the Accerating Pump Check Valve: Admits fuel into the pump cylinder. as the Accerating Pump By-Pass Jet: Meters the fuel that is used in the range of normal speed pump discharge, on the left is the Main Metering Valve:Meters the fuel that is used in the range of normal speed operation. The Accelerating Pump behind it delivers additional fuel momentarily while accelerating to provide smooth and rapid acceleration
