Beaver rust (ouch)
Rear beaver removed to replace with repro panel. Some rust internally which will be dealt with whilst it can be accessed. Boot barrel hole replaced in rear panel as per the engineers requirements.

New repro beaver panel in place. I had the exhaust cut area modified so that the 3" pipe i am using would fit neatly and not hang down below the panel.

New panel in place. The inner panel was also replaced for extra insurance against rust in the future. Once the car is painted all the sills and panel cavities will be wax filled to keep out the water.

Bolt on panels being prepared for epoxy etch primer. All the hanging panels were sent out to be stripped. They came back in excellent condition, both the panels themselves and the job done by the stripper are great. Not a lot of major body work needed.

Bonnet hinges finished. These have had the spring mounting tabs cut off and all the corners rounded. I drilled out the rivets holding them together and rebuilt the worn surfaced with a brazing rod. They were reassembled and are now nice and tight.

The alumium cup in the radiator support panel is a seat for the bonnet prop. I had to remove the bonnet hinge springs as they fouled the brake master cylinder.

When I rebuilt the front door hinges I put them back together incorrectly. The quickest fix was to drill and tap new door mounting holes. Now theyr'e ready for paint.

These are the bonnet retaining bolts. Instead of plain button heads I have machined up some aluminium washers that allow me to use countersunk stainless bolts. This will give a smooth finish once installed.
