this is were i built up 2 sections to make manifold and flange even. i used 3 cast craft welding rods to do this and ain't cheap either 8 bucks a rod but the weld is nice when done trick stuff to weld do small sections at a time to prevent it from cracking .it cost me around 30 dollars to get flange wielded buy the blocks at east end steel cheers guys.

this shows were the steel flange is welded to the manifold the studs go right thought the steel section and into the cast manifold which uses 202 manifold studs which are turned around threaded in to aid in strength and to stop it from cracking off under heat and pressure.

you can see in this pic that the studs go right through the steel flange which is yet to be finished into the cast part of the manifold so if the weld that bonds the steel flange to cast manifold brakes the studs prevent breakage the manifold required a bit if cast weld filling to permit this stud perimeter.

this is clearance to starter motor as u can see plenty even tho im using a vl starter as a mock up the vk one has the starter solenoid down a bit lower but is not a wurry.
