this was supposably going to be a easy job, to cut off the rusted rear pan and weld in a good panel from a body i had sitting around

Slowly getting it looking good again. Im so glad i decided to get a half cut instead of buying a repair panel. allows me to cut sections out where i want the weld to end up

the only part of the job im not happy about. the join of the good panel was but welded, i wanted to overlap the join, but didnt have the correct tools to make a lip on the edges.

trial fitting of the boot lid.
luckly it just fits, opening on the shell is going to require a light massage to give even clearance

this is after the first weld grind. i will be re-welding the whole join, to build up the metal ready for panel beating. i absolutly hate using body filler, and intend to use as little as possable. im reading up on how to lead fill, but i probally wont be good enough for it.
I have plenty of car bodies to practice on
