Series 1 Landrover

This is a 1949 Series 1 short wheelbase Landrover, Me and Dad found it in the neighbours paddock while shooting roos. It belonged to the local vet who generously donated it to us for free. First thing was to get it rolling, luckily it takes the same size tyre as a traytop landcruiser (15" I think)

We got a 173 red motor off of one of dads cousins on king island. Apparently this is a fairly common conversion.

Check out the massive adaptor plate between the Landy 4 speed bell housing and the 173. The 'gear stick' in the foreground controls the PTO (power take off), implements are able to mounted in the tray on on the draw bar and driven by the Landrovers engine.
